School Recap 2

Open House
I always look forward to Open House at the end of the year.  I love seeing what the kids have worked on and created throughout  the year.  I always get a kick out of their descriptions of themselves, especially what they'll be like when they're 100 years old.  Too funny!
Lauren's work:

The picture on the very top row with the blue vase belongs to Lauren.

If you can't read this, it says that when Lauren is 100 years old, she will hunt deer, watch TV, play golf, but she will not run in circles. Haha!

Our character Jacob having his own mini-moment in the spotlight...
 Anna's work:
Her class spent a lot of time this year studying the pioneers and reading books like "Little House on the Prairie" and  "Sarah, Plain and Tall.
They made their own mini quilts.

They also studied the Native Americans and built their own teepees.
Anna's picture is second row from the top, on the far right.
Anna's postage stamp is on the far left, top row.

A Habitat is a Home
The kids participated in a few shows throughout the year.  Lauren's grade performed "A Habitat is a Home" and Lauren's class was responsible for the tundra.  They memorized a ton of songs and a very long chant about the tundra.
The wonderful thing about tundras is tundras are wonderful things.
The North has polar bear cubs and orca whales who sing.
It's snowy, windy, frosty, icy, cold, cold, cold, cold, cold.
The most wonderful thing about tundras are the wonders that it holds.

The wonderful thing about tundras are the tundra's wonderful places.
The South has soaring mountains and deep cavern spaces.
It's snowy, windy, frosty, frosty, icy, cold, cold, cold, cold, cold.
The most wonderful thing about tundras are the wonders that it holds.

The wonderful thing about tundras is tundras are really great.
Many glaciers floating, animals hibernate.
It's snowy, windy, frosty, icy, cold, cold, cold, cold, cold.
The most wonderful thing about tundras are the wonders that it holds.
Oh, the wonders that it holds.  Brrrrrrr!

Starstruck Showcase
The other main show of the year was the "Starstruck Showcase".  Anna's class danced to "Beat It" and Anna was super excited to be one of the kids picked to moonwalk in the middle of her dance.

Lauren's class performed to "Do You Love Me" and tie-dyed their own shirts.
